Eldot has created a beautiful character in Julian. We first meet him in Barr's Meadow, the first of five novels that make up Julia's Private Scrapbook, an idealistic lookback to growing up in the 1960s and centers on his two week stay at Boy Scout Camp. He's Kinda Tall is the second book of Julia's high school days. It stands alone fine by itself, but after reading it you'll definitely want to read the whole series!
I have not yet finished the book but have enjoyed reading it so far. I would consider it light reading.
And how are they now is the main question...looking this far back but how did these youths live in the 70’s as this book seems more now than yesteryear from what little observation I have of gay youth today. I wasn’t as old as these boys in 1962 but I was there... and in my era of the later 60’s I never knew of such fun. Mark me jealous!
